About me
Hi, I'm Ava. I'm 19 and I've loved animals for as long as I can remember. I started volunteering at a local interactive zoo and horse ranch when I was 14yo to start gaining hands on experience and I now have 300+ volunteer hours working with exotic animals. Ive also owned many of my own exotic animals ever since I was little such as hermit crabs, turtles, ferret, rat, chickens, snake, rabbit, and sugar gliders, so I know first hand how complex exotic animal care can be. I also have two dogs named Walter and Lazlo. Some of my hobbies in addition to caring for my pets include singing and playing my ukulele or guitar, sketching, roller blading, horse riding and watching movies. I've been scuba certified since I was 10yo and grew up as a competitive swimmer. Im also a children's privet swim instructor during the summer months. I recently graduated high school and plan to attend the "Animal Behavior Institute" in place of college as well as start volunteering at the Houston zoo through the adult program to gain more hands on experience in order to get my dream job as a zookeeper. I dream of one day being a wife and stay at home mom and plan to live on a family compound with my parents so we can all be together.
MY MISSION
Most pet sitters are hesitant to care for exotics because they either think it's too much work, or they know they aren't knowledgable enough to do it properly. I started this business because I take pet care very seriously and I believe every pet deserves the best. while exotic pet sitting is my specialty, I can also care for cats and dogs if needed! I love animals so much that even the dirty work I find enjoyable, and I'm very enthusiastic about providing the level of care to your babies that I give to my own.

We had a wonderful experience with Ava as our pet sitter! She came in and cared for my daughter’s two guinea pigs, her hermit crabs, and our 15-year-old cat while we were away for over a week. Ava was incredibly reliable, attentive, and gentle with all of them. It gave us peace of mind knowing that not only were their basic needs being met, but that they were also getting plenty of love and attention. Our cat, who can be a little particular, felt comfortable with her, and the guinea pigs and hermit crabs were thriving when we returned. Ava kept us updated throughout the trip, which made it so much easier to relax and enjoy our time away. We couldn’t recommend her more highly—she’s truly wonderful with pets of all kinds!
